How can something so plainly Wrong be so damn irresistable?
And it’s *snowing* outside? Erg.

Word on the street - well, on the librarian listservs that I frequent - is that this is far from Gaiman’s best work. So yeah, I find it pretty resistable. You’re so lucky it’s snowing!
I tried to talk a look at it over at Borders the other day. Shrink-wrapped, I’m afraid. And since the clerk had to hand it to me, I was reluctant to unwrap it. I must admit that I’ve still interested to see it — more for its take on things Elizabetan than for its value as a comic book as such. The whole comicbook genre, actually, has been kind of suspect in my book since the only really cool comic book hero lost his series back in 1987. I have to admit that seeing him (*and* Dr Doom) back in old Albion would be just too delicious. I noticed also the other day that the book does seem to have a few defenders in high places….
