Literature, Criticism, and Theory

I’ve agreed, rather late in the game, to pick up a section of E200 in the Fall.  Putting the course together, I’ve come across Andrew Bennett and Nicholas Royle’s Introduction to Literature, Criticism, and Theory (Harlow: Pearson Longman, 2004).  It’s in the 3rd edition, but new to me.  Quite a neat anthology, very useful for introducing theory in a “post-theory” way.  I’ve only looked it over briefly; however if you’re putting together an intro lit class, I’d recommend you have a look at it, if you don’t know it already, especially if you’re looking for some interesting entry-points for sophisticated (for an entry-level course, in any case) discussions of literary and theoretical questions that gets aways from the Shark/Jet “schools” of literary theory that you may remember from the 80’s and early 90’s.
